Various amounts of 22 chemicals used in the treatment of fish diseases were dissolved in aquarium water so that a series of concentrations was obtained. Tolerance on overdosing was determined by recording the mortality among young guppies (Lebistes reticulatus) after 48 hours. Among the chemicals were copper sulphate, malachite green, methylene blue, potassium permanganate, nitrofurans, antibiotics and antiprotozoal drugs.
