Late maternity in researchers' and medical staff's opinions

During the last decade in Koszalin hospital 223 women over 35 years old gave birth to their first child. Those numbers made up 1.2% of all births in this time. Medical documents were analyzed to compile a detailed list carrying main problems concerning of this group of women. Older primiparas had a lot of problems with conception, carrying pregnancy to term, pathology of pregnancy and labor. These women cooperated with midwives and doctors very well, and that fact was strongly emphasized by the medical staff. Women over 35 years old declared stronger need of support, aid and knowledge than other groups of patients.
