The gynecologic investigation and a fortiori the long-standing local treatment of vulvo-vaginitis risk to condition a psychic traumatogenic potential by stimulating the child's sexual and aggressive phantasms. In order to reduce the eventuality of the same, a comprehensive talk with the mother and her child and the most delicate tact from part of the physician are necessary, so as to allow a better participation of the young patient. The better prevention would appear to be the demystification of the child's genital zone by a systematic investigation of the same with occasion of the pediatrician's periodical advices.
