Activity of A and D cathepsines, tromboplastine, plazminogen activator in cholesteatoma and granuloma taken from children is higher than cholesteatoma and granuloma taken from adults. The amount of soluble proteina, peptides and alfa-amine nitrogen in cholesteatoma and granuloma taken from children is lower then in the analogous tissues of adults. High proteolitic activity and a low amount of protein degradation products such as peptides and alfa-amine nitrogen in cholesteatoma and granuloma is an evidence of the great activity of these pathological tissues in temporal bone destruction occurring especially in children.
