Over a period of six months, the authors have observed two cases of acute intestinal obstruction in new-born receiving a preparation containing pectin and cellulose, in order to thicken their feeds. These two cases demonstrate: - the risk of intestinal obstruction by thickening the baby's feeds; - the possibility of relieving obstruction by barium enema using water soluble contras, media.
