Genetic analysis of oat was carried out by diallel analysis of F1 hybrids and by joint scaling test. Using the joint scaling test, the quantitative estimation of genetic parameters forming the phenotypic averages allowed the determination of the involvement of marker genes for certain qualitative characters. The hybrids that are most suitable for the identification and mapping of quantitative trait loci are presented.
