It has been generally accepted that cell-mediated immunity is critical to both the resolution of acute HCV infection and the pathogenesis of chronic hepatitis. However, they are a lot questions still waiting for elucidation. This article is a summary of recent facts and hypotheses formulated in last two years in the field of investigations on viral hepatitis C.
