The paper discusses the association of present-day human dietary protein requirements with the environment. The fact that chemical and organic contaminants of food and water and a number of physical factors have a negative modulating effect on the structure and properties of human protein structure is beyond question. This additional protein breakdown caused by environmental factors due to intracellular degradation processes in proteins and natural aging should be taken into account in determining human dietary protein requirements in poor ecological regions and situations. Dietary protein supplementation may ensure high protein renewal in the body, thus contributing to effective adaptation to unfavourable environmental factors.
