It is concluded that the oral administration of hydrogen peroxide to mice can induce gastric erosion, duodenal hyperplasia and duodenal carcinoma. The results indicate that hydrogen peroxide may have dual functions in the formation of duodenal nodules; amplification of the spontaneous occurrence of duodenal hyperplasia and the transforming of hyperplastic to neoplastic nodules.
