Two cases of eye exposure to squashed daddy long legs spiders (Pholcidae) are reported [Australia]. They are in a 21-year-old man and a woman. Both patients presented with swollen and painful eyes after wiping the eye with the same hand used to squash the spider. Treatment consisted of eye irrigation, oral promethazine and topical prednisolone. Swelling and oedema reduced after treatment. This is the first report of an adverse effect from these spiders.
