The sample, 2 ml serum or 0.5 g tissue, is digested at 60 deg C for 6 h or longer with HNO3 and an aqueous solution of the residue is extracted with diethyldithiocarbamate in the presence of CCl4. The material soluble in the organic solvent is irradiated and counted. The method does not suffer from interference by other ions, e.g. Na+, Cl-, and its sensitivity and reproducibility are comparable with those of other methods.
