Determination of the saponification value of official oils, fats and waxes

The saponification is carried out with 0,5 n potassium hydroxyde in methyleellosolvexylene (1 : 1). The excess of potassium hydroxyde is determined by titration with 0,5 n hydrochloric acid in methyleellosolve-xylene (1 : 1) using xylene-blue indicator solution.
