10 cranes died peracutely at the end of April 1998. Pathological changes were identified in the intestine, liver and kidneys caused probably by an intoxication, but no specific poison was identified. Endoparasites (Porrocaecum spp., Eimeria pusilla and Echinostoma spp.) were diagnosed in 7 cranes.
