Milk samples were analysed from 20 women who had been divided pre-partum into a vitamin-supplemented group and an unsupplemented group. Normal dietary intakes of ascorbic acid, vitamins B-12 and B-6, and/or folate were 50% of the subjects. Ascorbic acid appeared in greater concn. in milk from supplemented mothers. For all vitamins, initial intake status was an important factor in the effect of supplementation.
