A 25 year old woman was admitted to the hospital with fever, markedly enlarged tender liver and a pericardial rub. A clinical diagnosis of amoebic liver abscess rupturing into the pericardium was made. At autopsy, the liver abscess which had ruptured into the pericardium was found to be cholangitic in aetiology. The case is reported because of its rarity.
