Two cases of Onchocerca volvulus infection are reported from female American missionaries living along the river Toototobi, Amazonas, Brazil, close to the Venezuelan border. The infection is assumed to have been transmitted via the local Indians who are in frequent contact with Venezuelan Indians. This is only the 2nd record of this parasite in Brazil. Incidence among the Indians is unknown.
