LASIK--comparison of clinical results in operations performed with oscillating and rotating microkeratomes

Clinical results of LASIK with two different microkeratomes were evaluated. Oscillating microkeratome Flapmaker, Refractive Technologies and rotating Draeger microkeratome, Stroz were used for this study. Operations were performed on two group of high myopic patients (-11.09 D sf.eq., -12.03 D sf.eq. mean preop. refraction). Faster visual recovery and less complications were found with Flapmaker. LASIK created clinically acceptable results in both groups of patients.
