If in Tunis American vines are to be planted on the site from which vines have just been removed, the ground should be allowed to be fallow for 3 years. The summer before planting the ground must be worked by hand or mechanically to a depth of at least 60 cm. If mechanically, the couch grass should be destroyed previously.
