En ung hjärtfrisk person drabbades av hjärtinfarkt efter terapi med idarubicin. Tidssambandet gör det mycket sannolikt att idarubicin var orsaken. Kardiella biverkningar vid cytostatikabehandling är välkända. Det rör sig dock mest om kroniska kardiomyopatier med hjärtsvikt.
