Methods of equilibrium diffusion from free surface and hanging drop vapor diffusion were used to obtain aspartate-aminotransferase microcrystals from chicken heart cytosol. Polyethylene glycol solutions were used as precipitators. Because of the width of 0.1-2.2 mukm the crystals may be used to determine enzymatic activity. The catalytic activity of the microcrystals was found to comprise 90-95% of the enzyme activity in the solution.
