Mean values for Fe in diets containing 7 to 30 mg/kg were not significantly different when estimated colorimetrically with sulphonated bathophenanthroline and by atomic absorptiometry; the latter values were more variable. Cu, phosphate, perchlorate, sulphate and a mixture simulating some of the minerals in the diet did not interfere.
