Clinical Observations with Prolonged Continuous Adminstration of Norethisterone Acetate

Forty-eight patients were treated with norethisterone acetate, 2.5 mg daily and studied in various parameters. There appeared to be no relationship between breakthrough bleeding and the histology of the endometrium, and side effects were minimal. Recovery to normal ovulation occurred rapidly (15-50 days) after cessation of treatment and almost always within the first cycle.
