Today, with the focus on doing everything more efficiently, cost effectively, and safely, cardiac surgery is changing. The concepts of budget cuts, decreased inpatient days, quality assurance, quality monitoring, and competition, are driving forces in health care today. One way the Cleveland Clinic achieves all this is through the use of the minimally invasive approach to cardiac surgery.
