The causative agent in 50 cases of mycetoma was studied histopathologically. The organisms involved were Madurella mycetomi (9 cases), Pyrenochaeta romeroi (2), Leptosphaeria senegalensis (3), Streptomyces [Actinomadura] madurae (23), Nocardia (7), S. [A.] pelletieri (5), and S. somaliensis (1).
