A case is reported in a 13-yr-old boy from Bangalore, India, who was receiving corticoid treatment for nephrotic syndrome and who presented with a 3-d history of high grade intermittent fever and progressive weakness of the right upper and lower limbs. Computed tomography of the brain showed ring enhancing lesions in both parietal lobes, indicative of multiple abscesses. Histopathological examination of pus obtained by an aspiration biopsy of an abscess demonstrated numerous branching, septate hyphae characteristic of Aspergillus. The patient was treated with amphotericin B and was lost to follow-up, although he later attended the clinic for treatment of epilepsy and had no neurological deficit.
