Cases are reported in a 79-yr-old diabetic woman and a 36-yr-old man from France who both developed pyelonephritis. C. glabrata [Torulopsis glabrata] was isolated from urine and blood samples in the first patient. A nephrectomy was performed in the 2nd patient and C. albicans was cultured from material obtained. Both patients were successfully treated with intravenous fluconazole (400 mg/d) for 17 and 5 d respectively; the 2nd patient also received oral fluconazole (200 mg/d) for 1 month.
