Absorption of canine reaginic serum with anti-human IgE resulted in a substantial reduction in Prausntitz-Kustner titre to ragweed. Anti-human IgE was also effective in eliciting reversed cutaneous anaphylaxis in the dog. This is conclusive evidence of antigenic similarity of canine and human IgE. The immunolectrophoretic identification of canine IgE is described.
