Intravenous administration of Polyox WSR-301 (2 injections of 5.10-6 g/ml with a week-long interval) resulted in a 3 8% decrease in the manifestation of sudanophilic injuries of the aortic arch of rats kept on atherogenic diet during 2 weeks. During the perfusion of formalin-fixed vascular system of the posterior part of the body under constant pressure, the replacement of physiological solution by a polyethylene oxide solution (10-5 g/ml) was ineffective in both norm and pathology. In pronounced lipoidosis, this substitution led to a decrease in hydrodynamic resistance by 914.5%. Introduction of subthreshold doses of the polymer into the blood system (10-5 g/ml) of anesthetized rats with pronounced lipoidosis resulted in a decrease of the total peripheral blood flow resistance by 20%. Blood flow velocity in the carotid artery increased by 17-20%.
