A brief summary is presented of a 1984 international meeting of a new Asian regional organization, ASIAFOODS, associated with the International Network of Food Data Systems (INFOODS). This report identifies as the overall goal of ASIAFOODS that each country should have complete, accurate, and up-to-date national food composition tables, and outlines the planned activities of ASIAFOODS. The recommended structure for ASIAFOODS and the relationship between ASIAFOODS and INFOODS also are discussed.(wz)
