Barbados officials are working to set up a national policy on sex education based on similar British programs. Proposals have been made for a core curriculum to be incorporated in the regular school curricula, and to be adjusted to individual needs. Mass media and parental support are seen as essential, and a wide range of clinical services are contemplated as part of the program. The program itself will reach not only young people, but adults and the physically and mentally retarded as well.
