Examination by the Scotch tape method of 1, 266 children and adolescents (93.6% were less than 15 years old) in New York City showed 12.2% to be infected with Enterobius vermicularis. The incidence among 951 Puerto Ricans was 9.8%, among 249 non-Puerto Rican white children it was 23.3% and 6.1% in 66 Negro children. The difference in infection of Puerto Ricans born in New York (11.3%) and those born in Puerto Rico (9.3%) was not statistically significant.
