The characteristics of the preclinical and initial stages of organic dementias at an older age

89 aged patients with different clinical forms of dementia (senile, vascular, Pick's disease, Alzheimer's disease) were examined. There appeared 4 variants of preclinical development of dementia: cerebroasthenic, dysmnesic, rigidity of thinking, psychopathy-like condition). On the basis of these symptom complexes early diagnosis of mental disturbances is possible in general geriatric population.
