The nutritional state of 600 children 3 months to 7 years old from different rural districts of Zambia was assessed; 77% were adequately nourished and 7% were judged to be malnourished, having a mid-upper arm circumference of 12.5 cm or less. In the Sesheke area 9% but in the Senanga area only 4.3% were malnourished.
