For evaluation of the results of HLA examinations in paternity disputes the objective finding that the man has HLA antigens which the child inherited from the father, is decisive. The controversy as regards heredity ensuing from assessment of HLA haplotypes of the man by family studies is caused by recombination. The author presents a case of this type.
