Examination of faecal samples from 615 people from 6 localities (5 rural and one urban) in a central hilly area of Rumania showed 63-3% to be infected with intestinal parasites. Most frequent were Ascaris lumbricoides (51.9%) and Trichuris trichiura (35%). Details are given of worm burdens as determined from the numbers of A. lumbricoides expelled after administration of piperazine adipate.
