A procedure for diagnosticating drug allergy is described. It includes collection of the blood specimens, isolation of the lymphocytes, their incubation with an allergen and determination of the quantity of the diene conjugates in the lymphocytes before and after the incubation. When the quantity of the diene conjugates after the incubation with an allergen is 2 times as lower, the drug allergy is stated. The time course of the diene conjugate contents is followed up. A decrease in the initial level of the diene conjugates at least by 55 per cent in 7 patients with penicillin intolerance, in 4 patients with novocain intolerance and in 1 patient with streptomycin intolerance could be indicative of the allergy atopic mechanism.
