Esophageal stenosis caused by cicatricial inflammatory, tuberous mediastinal lesions following lymph node tuberculosis

Three cases of scar-induced stenosis of the thoracic segment of the oesophagus after pulmonary tuberculosis, tuberculous pleuritis, tuberculous lymphadenitis arc reported. The cause of stenosis wers inflammatory changes in the mediastinal lymph nodes of the type of granuloma spreading to and compressing the oesophagus. Curc was obtained in one case after releasing the oesophagus front the infiammatory infiltration and extramucosal incision of the muscular coat of the thoracic oesophagus at a distance of about 10 cm. In the second case, owinę to crcation of an artiticial retrosternal oesophagus made of the jejunum, and in the third case the artificial oesophagus was made of the jejunum and caeeum supplemented with a segment of large intestine on a common peduncle front ileocolonic vessels.
