In this Commentary, the authors examine the work of Robinson et al (Does television viewing increase obesity and reduce physical activity? Cross-sectional analyses among female adolescents). They offer data from their studies which, unlike Robinson's work, provide evidence of a correlation between television viewing and obesity. They argue that the overall health effects of television viewing among children and adolescents warrant a recommendation that time should be limited to 1 to 2 hours per day.
