The values of spontaneous NBT test significantly rise at the peak of leptospirosis in patients with an uncomplicated course of the disease (p lt 0.05). Low values of the spontaneous NBT test with stimulation with Staphylococcus in patients with grave leptospirosis predict the development of life-threatening complications. Leptospirosis vaccine reduced the elevated values of the NBT in leptospirosis. The depressing effect of leptospirosis vaccine is indicative of a high risk of development of late complications.
