Local trepanation of bones of an ischemic extremity, mainly in biologically active points, is conducted successfully for activation of collateral circulation in thromboses of reconstructed arteries and shunts when the blood flow in the main arteries cannot be restored for various reasons. The collateral blood flow increases noticeably due to opening of reserve collaterals and the development of new ones.
