Histamine or cadaverine or both amines jointly were given to guinea pigs for 7 weeks. The histamine content was determined in urine and the diamine-oxidase activity in the kidneys. Histamine excretion by the kidneys occurred 4 hours after introduction of the amine into the stomach. In the animals receiving histamine the activity of diamine-oxidase was greatly enhanced.
