Pregnant rats, 4 in each group, were given a basal diet with Na 28.5 or 1.4 m-equiv/100 g diet. Some were examined on day 18, 20, 21 and 22 of pregnancy. Blood samples were taken on the first and last days of experiment. Rats were killed and the adrenals were studied. Plasma Na and K concentrations in those given enough Na did not change after day 18 and were not different from those of the group given low Na at day 18.
