The establishment of a post coital contraception service

A postcoital contraception service available every day was established in a teaching hospital. Almost 2/3 of the 1st 80 patients came because of broken sheaths. The patients were older, and more middle class than those in previous studies. Forty four had been pregnant previously. Among the 62 patients treated there were 2 failures. Patients using barrier methods of contraception should be provided with postcoital tablets as a backup method.
