Thee kind of insurance you need may not be the kind you're sold. The insurance industry continues to unload the wrong kind of coverage on the gullible public. There are two ways that you can buy life × insurance. You can buy pure death protection; or you can buy death protection that includes a savings account. The first is called term insurance, the other is called cash value insurance. Why don't insurance agents tell you the truth about cash value insurance? Either they don't know, or they find it so profitable to sell cash value insurance that they don't want to know. On the $100,000 policy discussed earlier, the agents make a commission of $1,665 with renewals of $205 per year. They only make $283 with renewals of $49.30 when selling term, Is it any wonder that most of the insurance in force is cash value insurance?
