The British Columbia Supreme Court held that discrimination on the basis of pregnancy constitutes sex discrimination under the Human Rights Act, even though it is not discrimination against all women. The case involved a woman whose offer of employment as a secretary was withdrawn when her employer learned that she was pregnant and would have to go on maternity leave in one month's time.

2005: I understood that trans fat should be avoided because it can increase your risk of cardiovascular disease. And I had heard that the main source of trans fat is partially hydrogenated oils.
