Among other things, this Saarland, Federal Republic of Germany Act provides that with respect to the appointment and promotion of public-service employees, women are to be given consideration at least in proportion to their percentage of equally qualified applicants, so long as there are not reasons related to individual competitors that dictate otherwise. The Act also stipulates that qualification for one career path can be recognized as qualification for a career path of equal value and that the waiting period associated with a job is to be increased by the amount of time spent on child rearing in so far as this time has delayed training.
