In March 1988 the Greek Government amended its law on early pensions to allow all women insured by IKA with unmarried children under 21 years of age or children unable to work to claim a pension at age 55. Previously only married women and widows with such children could claim an early pension. The government also increased the number of insurance agencies whose women insurees would be eligible for this early retirement.
