Viable cysts, eggs and larvae of Heterodera glycines were recovered from the faeces of 3 species of force-fed caged birds and from the digestive tracts of wild birds trapped in an infested field. In all experiments the eggs and cysts recovered after 24 to 48 hours developed on soyabean plants.
