The interrelationships between H. glycines, P. scribneri, Helicotylenchus pseudorobustus, Pratylenchus projectus and Tylenchorhynchus martini were studied on soyabean cvs, Williams 79 (susceptible) and Fayette (resistant) in 2 field experiments (1982 and 1983) in Illinois, USA. Fields were treated or not treated with aldicarb. In both years, H. glycines populations increased on nontreated Williams 79, decreased on treated and nontreated Fayette and remained at initial levels on treated Williams 79. In 1982, recovery of P. scribneri/g dry root was different between nontreated cvs. Application of aldicarb suppressed soil and root populations of P. scribneri. There was little population increase of H. pseudorobustus, P. projectus and T. martini on nontreated cvs. In 1983 there were no yield differences between nontreated cvs. but aldicarb application caused an increase in yield of 25% due to control of P. scribneri. No synergistic effect on yield was found between H. glycines and P. scribneri.
