This document contains major provisions of the French Decree on medically-assisted procreation. The activities covered by these provisions are the collection of human oocytes, the collection and preservation of sperm, in vitro fertilization, the preservation of fertilized ova for implantation, and the transfer of fertilized ova. These provisions also apply prior licensing requirements to facilities equipped to carry out technological reproduction. Specific staffing and equipment requirements for such facilities are delineated, including the requirement that only a physician may transfer fertilized ova on the premises.
